UK Economy Slows to 0.1% Growth After JLR Cyber-Attack

The UK economy grew by only 0.1% in the third quarter of 2025, as a major cyber-attack on Jaguar Land Rover disrupted car manufacturing. Production plunged 2% in September, with vehicle output collapsing by 28.6%. Business investment also fell, while growth in services and construction was modest. The weak economic performance comes just ahead of the government’s Autumn Budget, raising concerns over potential tax increases and sparking fresh debate about the resilience of the UK’s industrial sector.
